Grandma's Sausage and Grits
It's officially autumn, which is my favorite time of year. This season is not only the season of celebrating good eats and thankfulness, but also the remembrance of ancestors. So this recipe is one of my wonderful late grandmother's.
As I mentioned in a previous recipe, my grandma didn't learn to cook until she was married with children. With that said, her meals were usually simple yet very tasty. I spent several summers throughout my childhood stuffing my face at her kitchen table. I fondly remember enjoying her various concoctions.

Most of my grandma's meals didn't really have names. I'll try my best to describe what this dish was: sliced beef kielbasa sausage in a Spanish-like tomato sauce served over grits. Her original recipe was rather simple; consisting of chopped tomatoes, stewed down and sliced onions, garlic, and sausage mixed in and seasoned with adobo, sazon, salt and pepper. I have since updated the recipe and refined it while maintaining its original essence.
My grandmother was an amazing women who loved her family and was adored by everyone that knew her. I hope that her food brings you as much delight as it did for me as a little girl.
